Principle and function<\/h2>\n

Two segment-wise permanently energized ring magnets (outer discs) enclose a (middle) hysteresis disc. If the same poles are opposite each other, a maximum magnetic field acts on the hysteresis disk. This causes a force line flow in the circumferential direction within the hysteresis disk, which generates the maximum torque. If unequal poles are opposite each other, the lowest magnetic field acts on the hysteresis disk and the line of force flows directly through it. This causes the minimum torque. By changing the angle of the pole overlap, the torque is infinitely adjustable and, as there are no contacting surfaces, the setting is maintained indefinitely.<\/p>\n

The units operate silently and wear-free. Different shaft diameters and shaft lengths can be manufactured on request.

    Applications with hysteresis brakes<\/h2>\n

    • Tension adjustment for fine wire, annealed or unannealed<\/li>\n
    • Wrapping material with high tensile sensitivity<\/li>\n
    • Torque limitation<\/li>\n
    • Load torque sensor or load torque simulation on test benches<\/li>\n
    • in stranding and stranding machines to improve the application<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Used as clutches, the units are used as drive links on rewinding stations for wires, film and magnetic tapes. It can also be used as a start-up clutch and torque-limiting safety clutch.<\/p>\n
