Magnetic Particle Brakes

Magnetic Particle Brakes with shaft

Shaft-mounted magnetic particle brakes offer precise torque control that is proportional to the excitation current. They are robust, designed for continuous slip and ideal for applications that require reliable tension control, such as in film and paper processing.

Details

The Magnetic Particle Brakesare designed for a temperature range of -20 to +80 °C.

  • Precise torque control through magnetic particles
  • Torque range: 0.2 Nm to 5 Nm
  • Maximum speed: 3,000 rpm
  • Heat loss at 100% operation: 15 W to 85 W
  • Available as FAS (without radiator) and FRAS (with radiator) models
  • Optional version with remanent rotor (RR) for higher speeds and vertical mounting
  • Residual torque for RR models around four times higher than for standard models
  • Suitable for horizontal operation
  • Recommended speed ranges: 60 to 3,000 rpm
  • Installation without bracing; use of flexible couplings if required
  • Constant torque independent of the speed
  • Simple integration into existing systems
  • High control accuracy and reproducibility
  • Robust design for industrial applications
  • Temperature resistance for different environments
  • Low moment of inertia for dynamic applications
  • Compatible with various control and regulation devices
  • High reliability and durability
  • Extensive documentation and support available
  • 3D models available in IGS or STEP format for design integration

Optional

  • Various sizes and torque ranges
  • Customizable shaft and flange configurations
  • Special versions for high temperatures or special ambient conditions

  • These standard units are designed for horizontal operation, speeds between 60 and 3000 min are possible, whereby the permissible power loss must be taken into account.
  • The installation must be carried out without any tensioning; if necessary, a flexible coupling must be used.
